1. They work well for this context... feels like I'm drawing down divine light and power with this specific set. I did som when I did my year and a day (more than that actually) of 9 Doors before deciding it wasnt for me.

2. Now that does sound like a nice theme for meditation! :) but that was also something that was already in the ALU Ritual. There are plenty of connections though.
